Club Captains Homepage

I am glad to see Lanhydrock Cricket Club moving into 2012 with a positive and future-orientated approach. With many ground improvements planned for the future and a very successful 2011 season, the foundations have been laid for the future growth and success of the club. The First XI had an excellent season last year with all the team performing well, braking a couple of club records as well as many notable personal performances from a very young squad which stands the club in good stead for the 2012 season.

The new season offers everyone at Lanhydrock a chance to expand and achieve their goals and ambitions. As captain, I am looking forward to working with the club closely to help you realise your ambitions for yourselves and your cricket club. My own ambition is to captain a side with a positive mentality that focuses on teamwork, both on and off the field.

With a stronger first team squad, promotion is the foremost target for me this season, and that is not beyond either, or both, of our sides. But my primary aim is to play in a team every week that shows heart, spirit, unity, application and a correct sporting etiquette. We have a club with an excellent balance of youth and experience, talent and determination; together we can be world beaters!

Remember, cricket is a leisure activity played with your friends at your own choice, and everyone who expects to do well next season should turn up prepared. Play to win, play fair but most of all play to enjoy yourself.
