If you are an aspiring young sportsperson (boy or girl) aged 7 – 17 and tired of your Playstation and want to be the next Freddie Flintoff, or even the next Shane Warne (England needs one of these) and wish to play cricket in a safe and friendly environment then please read the below.

Hello and a Happy New Year to all. Although still in the official rainy season it is about this time of year we start thinking about the plans for the year ahead.

Firstly I would like to congratulate Alex Sparrow and Dave Hollyoak on recently passing their coaching qualifications. I look forward to working with them this season and I am sure that their knowledge and experience will help to greatly improve our coaching at both youth and senior levels.

For this season as well as under 11 and under 13 sides we will be entering a new under 15 side into the Kernow league. This will be a big step forward for us as a club because it will mean bridging the gap between youth and senior cricket as well as providing games for the older youth players.

Indoor Nets this year will be held separate from Senior Nets. These will go ahead starting on the Thursday 23 March and will last for 1 hour 30 minutes. These sessions will take us straight up to the start of the season with the first Training session at Lanhydrock starting on Monday 17 April. The costs for these sessions will be £1 for indoor sessions and £2 for outdoor ones. (All monies collected this year will go towards the youth budget for 2006). Alternatively, a one of subscription of £15 per annum covers the cost of all outdoor sessions.

As mentioned earlier there will be matches this year for the above age groups and these will take place in the months of May, June, and July. These matches will be both home and away and cover an area from Newquay to Gorran.

There will be no additional fees for these games and any help from the parents concerning transport to games will be greatly appreciated.
